Vietnam needs TIR to boost economic growth
TIR’s potential benefits for Vietnam were presented last week at a workshop on International Trade Finance, Logistics and Business Development.
TIR, the world’s only universal customs transit system, has operated efficiently and reliably for over 67 years worldwide. IRU assessed TIR’s benefits for Vietnam and other countries in Southeast Asia if they become TIR Contracting Parties. IRU notably highlighted results from a recent study in nine selected countries in Asia, including Vietnam, by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP).
Organised by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Bangladesh, the event brought together over 200 participants from the Vietnam business community, as well as the Assistant to Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, Vice President and General Secretary of VICC, President and Secretary General of ICC Bangladesh and a delegate from UNESCAP.
